Happy Spring and Happy Holidays for those who have recently or are currently celebrating!

This February was my 16th anniversary of receiving my massage license. This means more 1100 hours of education in massage (and nearly 1000 more hours of education in yoga and other continuing education, not including my medical studies classes), over 15,000 hours of experience, and a few thousand different clients of all kinds over the years. It would be an understatement to say I am passionate about what I do, and I hope that is clear in every interaction you have with me as a client.

At RASA, we strive to provide you with the best massage and spa services, use the highest quality products we are able, use products that are environmentally friendly as much as possible, provide an atmosphere conducive to an peaceful experience, and so much more. We make great efforts to make your whole experience as delightful as we are able. We hope all of this is clear in every interaction you have with RASA.

This is a long one, sorry—Please keep reading for COVID (non-)Update, Exciting News, and Spring Specials (The specials are what you’re here for, right? 😉 They are at the bottom to encourage you to read what is before them.). Always and forever, we are ever so thankful for our loyal and committed clients—that’s YOU!!
~Ashleigh 🙏💚

Cancellation Policy Reminder
Each active RASA client has signed the agreement for this policy, but we know not everyone remembers how it works, especially after the last two years. Please review the policy carefully.
We would like to remind everyone of the cancellation policy (below). We have been very relaxed with the policy over the last two years to help keep everyone safe as we dealt with COVID. Now we need to be a little more strict in enforcing the policy again to protect our time and our income. Please also be aware that if you have an active Series Package, we can either charge the cancellation fee to a card or deduct from the Series Package. If you do not specify a preference, we will deduct from the Series Package on file.
If you do need to cancel please do so by text or phone call (and leave a voicemail since we are often unable to answer). We tend to get those faster and more easily than an email.
RASA’s Cancellation PolicyA credit card is required to book any appointment with RASA. In the event that an appointment with RASA is cancelled, the following cancellation terms will apply:If the cancellation notice is made to RASA within 3 hours of the appointment, the card on file is subject to a charge equal to the full price for the scheduled appointment. If a cancellation notice is made to RASA within 24 hours of the appointment, but at least 3 hours before the appointment, then the card on file is subject to a charge equal to half of the full price of the scheduled appointment. All cancellations must be made to RASA within the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Cancellations made after 8:00 p.m. are considered accepted on the next business day at 8:00 a.m. For example, if you have an appointment at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, a cancellation made after 8:00 p.m. on the prior Tuesday is considered a cancellation within 3 hours of the appointment and you will be subject to a charge equal to the full price of the appointment. Additionally, if you have an 11:00 a.m. appointment on Wednesday, a cancellation made at 8 a.m. on that Wednesday is considered within 3 hours of the appointment and you will be subject to a charge equal to the full price of the appointment.Cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance will not be charged a cancellation fee.Any person who schedules an appointment but does not show-up and does not cancel the appointment (a “no-show”) is subject to a charge equal to the full price of the appointment. We understand that emergency situations do occur which may cause unexpected cancellations and we will try to be as accommodating and understanding of these situations as possible. For this reason, we ask that you please communicate any cancellation notices to us as soon as possible.
A COVID (non-)Update
We Know, We’re All Tired of It, But…While we have relaxed some of our protocols, we have been advised by Ashleigh’s medical team, to continue to mask for a while longer, depending on the course of the virus. And of course masking is not just for Ashleigh; it is for each and every person on the table (or mat). We want to continue to protect you, your family, and whomever else you may have in your life who might be at a greater risk. We so hope that this will not need to continue into the summer, but we don’t want to make the call prematurely especially as we are seeing another rise in cases around the country and world.
We appreciate your continued understanding on this matter!
Yoga Training Graduation
I Graduated!I very nearly forgot to share with everything else happening in this email!
I just graduated from my 300/500 hour Yoga Teacher Training. I am now E-RYT 200, RYT 500 (Experience Registered Yoga Teacher 200 hour, Registered Yoga Teacher 500 hour)! I spent 5 days at the Himalayan Institute in PA soaking up all the yoga bliss I could to bring back with me.
I don’t currently have a regular teaching schedule (and haven’t since I started back to school), but I hope to find a way to get a somewhat regular schedule going soon. I am teaching about twice a month at Alegria Dance Studio, but we are working on that class schedule. You can follow @RASAWSH on Instagram and Facebook for updates on when I am teaching.
I am also working on an Advanced Anatomy for Yoga training with a physical therapist who is providing a uniquely informed perspective that allows for a safer and more sustainable practice for many. I plan to share some of that training in the coming months for an anatomy “update” (of sorts) for yoga teachers (and maybe fitness professionals in general?).
Can’t stop, won’t stop learning! Forever a student. 🤓 So much more to learn, always!

Hello dearest clients!

We are now a year and 5 days out from when RASA closed for quarantine and when we, as a nation, realized this situation was much more serious than many thought it would be. As you might have noticed from previous emails I am a “glass more than half full” kind of person. I know many people have suffered from illness &/or suffered losses of many kinds, but I am also grateful for some things this pandemic has brought me/us. Many of us have been able to take a look at our lives pre-pandemic and see things that were not serving us well and have been able to adjust here and there to make some needed changes. Not everyone has been this fortunate, but I hope each of you have been able to find something
positive from this collective experience. The pandemic has been another reminder of just how amazing our clients are. You are loyal, kind, generous, and many of you have supported us for more than a decade and in the midst of such a strange and stressful time! For that we are ever so grateful!

Because I tend toward overly verbose, here is a summary of what you will see below:
1) Yes, masks even if you’ve been vaccinated…: an explanation
2) But face down, we have you(r face) covered (no masks needed while face down)
3) New clients limited– only taking referrals for the time being
4) Schedule and call-list adjustments, eventually…
5) CBD products– what are you interested in?

 Your RASA Updates:
1)   Q: “I have been vaccinated. Can I stop wearing a mask?”

A: As much as we desperately want our clients to be able safely go without a mask on the table, and as much as we would be overjoyed to not have to wear one ourselves, unfortunately at this time, it’s just not a safe option. We are halfway to being fully vaccinated ourselves, which is a huge relief, but it’s too early to know just how safe we all are and for how long. The current CDC guidance says that people who have been vaccinated are safe to be with other vaccinated individuals; however, this is guidance for activities such as gathering with a small group for dinners and such. It is not guidance for being in a small room in very close proximity for an extended period of time. Since more than half of RASA’s current clients are over 60 and Ashleigh is herself at a higher risk, we can’t, in good conscience, start taking our masks off for treatments. We typically spend most of the massage within 3 feet of our clients’ faces and often a long time within a foot from faces, so staying vigilant remains a top priority. And don’t forget your nose should also still be covered unless you are exclusively a mouth-breather (and even if you are, go ahead and cover your nose anyway).

2)   We do now have a better option for being facedown— no mask needed (but you are welcome to wear one if you choose)! We use a custom fitted barrier under the face cradle, so we are all better protected and clients are more comfortable. And, of course, the barriers are changed between each client and the face cradles cleaned.

3)   Since reopening, we have managed to stay busy. We are trying not to overbook ourselves (one of the adjustments we are trying to make is not overworking), but as more clients come back as they are comfortable, we are moving in the direction of being as booked as the schedule allows. Because we are staying so very booked up right now, we are going to stop taking new clients unless a current client refers them to us. So, this means if you are receiving this email, you can still send people our way. They should just be prepared to wait a few weeks, maybe even 6 weeks, to get an appointment. This is a good “problem” for us to have, but we are sorry we are not able to accommodate more clients!

4) We are looking at some ways to streamline a few things in booking and make the schedule a little more cohesive. Since some of our cleaning time is reduced because of the UV light and other faster cleaning measures, we will slowly go back to less time between clients. If you have a standing appointment, you may be hearing from us over the next month or two about adjusting your time by 15-30 minutes again (we did this when we reopened knowing that it would eventually need to another adjustment).

We are also trying to figure out a way to make the call-list work a little better and reduce the time we need to spend notifying people and trying to decide who to contact when for what options. Right now, our call list is over 65 people deep and the business line thinks we are spamming people when we send out so many texts (so often some don’t go through). We are brainstorming and researching alternative options. So, if you are on the call list, expect a message maybe in a month or two (or more, depending on what options we can find).

5) Finally, we are considering expanding our CBD product options. We sell Charlotte’s Web CBD balms already, but wanted to see what else people might be interested in. We know that there are many options out there for CBD, but our goal in selling these is to make sure you’re getting high quality, effective products. Beyond Charlotte’s Web, we are considering stocking another locally grown hemp product, but we wanted to see where our clients’ need/wants/interests lie. Just balms and lotions? Gummies? Tinctures? Capsules? Let us know (email, text, in person) if you are interested in products beyond balms, but also if you’d be willing to pay a bit more for high quality local hemp products!

Another Update for COVID Protocols and Protections

Things to Know/Consider Before Returning to RASA:
-There have been many changes in our state’s and country’s approach to manage the pandemic and things continue to shift. We continue to learn more about COVID-19 every day, but we also continue to see new developments in the virus and how it operates so our continued need for extra caution remains.

-If you fall into a high risk category/categories, please consider delaying your return to RASA even further. Even taking as many precautions as we are able, there is still a risk of contracting COVID-19 or some other infection. There is always a risk of contracting something, but the need to keep our immune systems strong is especially important right now.

Measures We are Taking to Protect You (and Us):

-Your massage therapists have been tested for COVID-19 and received negative results. We continue to try to do this for your and our benefit.

-We wear a clean mask throughout your visit.

-Clients are required to wear a mask while at RASA. Masks have been shown to be one of the most affective ways to slow or stop transmission outside of social distancing, which is not something we can do while working with clients (but continue to do in every day life). So in order to protect you and ourselves, we need clients to wear a mask. We have clean reusable masks in sterilized bags as well as disposable masks on hand, but you are welcome to wear your own clean mask. We have come up with a comfortable option while facedown if you are not comfortable in your own mask while facedown

Each client is required to fill out the COVID Intake and Waiver. We have what we hope will be a better way to manage this that will not require a new form each time. You will need to fill out one more form and then for each visit you will initial a page that states nothing has changed with your health or habits.

-If you or we have any symptoms of a cough, cold, flu, or even allergies, just to be safe, we will reschedule.

-A thorough cleaning of the space will take place between clients in addition to our usual professional cleaning at least once a week. We clean important surfaces with cleaners that contain ingredients deemed safe and effective for killing the SARS-CoV-2 virus and run a UVC light between clients and at the end of the day to kill any microbes that may be in the air as well as on surfaces.

-Air Purifiers will continue to run in each treatment room and we are running a UV Ionic air purifier as well.

-Sanitizing spray is available in each room.

-We use UVC Light wand to sterilize certain surfaces more thoroughly.

– Fewer appointments will be booked and they will be staggered to allow for more time for cleaning and reduce traffic in common spaces.

-We have removed some commonly touched things that make microbe transmission easier such as the candy/cough drop dishes, teas, etc. We have learned that this virus does not transfer easily from surfaces, but for the time, we will continue to take these precautions.

-Disposable cups and paper towels are available. As much as we want to reduce our waste, we have decided single-use cups are a safer option at the moment. For the time, the washable hand drying towels will be available and laundered appropriately as usual.

-The massage tables, face cradles, Thai mat, cushions, and pillows are covered so they can be sanitized between each client (this meant changing out the super comfy face cradle cushions since the cover doesn’t fit them, sorry!).

-All 30 Minute Stand-alone services that require a massage therapist be present (i.e. 30 Minute massages, Sole Satisfaction, Free Your Mind, etc.) unless in conjunction with a longer service or multiple 30 Minute service will be unavailable because the time of the services is prohibitive.
*Sauna appointments are available, but on a more limited basis.

-Prepayment for service options are available: the card you have on file (if we have it), payment over the phone, Venmo, PayPal, or Cash App. Paying in person is fine too and include the same options above as well as check and cash.

-And more measures to assure the space is safe for you!

–If you think of anything you would like to see us do that is not mentioned, please feel free to let us know!

-If you see that we have forgotten something we need to do to protect you and all other guests, please let us know!

Thank You For Your Continued Patience During This Time!

Finally, remember that if circumstances change and we feel we need to close again to protect everyone, you will be notified immediately.

-You will be asked to fill out an updated COVID Intake and Waiver (if you need this form, please request by using the contact form or by text). I know some people have had a hard time with accessing or signing it from this link. If you have trouble, please email or text Ashleigh so we can get it sent over AdobeSign. This form will be required before each visit to RASA for a service for the foreseeable future. We are working on a better option to this, but have yet to come up with a good solution.

-If you or we have any symptoms of a cough, cold, flu, or even allergies, just to be safe, we will reschedule.

-We will be wearing a clean mask and a clean apron for each client.

-A thorough cleaning of the space will take place between clients in addition to our usual professional cleaning at least once a week. This includes the use of cleaning ingredients deemed safe and effective for killing the SARS-CoV-2 virus and other microbes by the EPA (including 60%+ alcohol, thymol, and surfactants). We are also running a UV light between clients and at the end of the day to kill any microbes that may be in the air as well as on surfaces.

-Air Purifiers will continue to run in each treatment room and we are running a UV Ionic air purifier as well.

-We have removed some commonly touched things that make microbe transmission easier such as the candy dishes, tea, clipboards, and pens. If any of these things are needed, they can be retrieved, but they will stay put away to reduce exposure possibilities. We have learned that this virus does not transfer easily from surfaces, but for the time, we will continue to take these precautions.

-Disposable cups and paper towels are available. As much as we want to reduce our waste, we have decided single-use cups are a safer option at the moment. For the time, the washable hand drying towels will be available and laundered as appropriate as usual.

-The massage tables, face cradles, Thai mat, cushions, and pillows are covered so they can be sanitized between each client (this meant changing out the super comfy face cradle cushions since the cover doesn’t fit them, sorry!).

-Some services will not be available for the time being because we deem certain tools, equipment, and linens too hard to sterilize between clients. Those include (but are not limited to):
-Hot Stone Massage
-Wraps
-30 Minute Stand-alone services (i.e. 30 Minute massages, Sole
Satisfaction, Free Your Mind, etc.) unless in conjunction with
a longer service or multiple 30 Minute service
-Sauna appointments are available, but on a more limited basis.

Our COVID Plan:
Things to Know/Consider Before Returning to RASA:
-SC’s daily reported cases have more than doubled since Memorial Day, so we will continue to keep an eye on what the trends are and why. We are doing more testing, so that’s a part of the reason for the number of reported cases increasing. But also, many of the new cases are coming from broad reopenings and many people not adhering to recommendations. And thus, our continued need for extra caution remains.

-If you had an appointment that you missed due to the closure because of COVID-19, you should have been contacted to reschedule. If you missed an appointment over the last 10 weeks but did not receive a text, please text or call 803-386-8203 to reschedule. Those who missed an appointment/appointments due to COVID-19 will be rebooked as soon as possible. Please be patient as we try to accommodate everyone as best as we are able. If you had a recurring appointment, please be aware that the timing for your appointment will likely need to shift until the risk of COVID-19 is significantly reduced. When it is safer to go back to “normal” booking, we can reevaluate your appointment day &/or time.

**Because of the major increase in daily reported cases, clients are now required to wear a mask while at RASA. Masks have been shown to be one of the most affective ways to slow or stop transmission outside of social distancing, which is not something we can do while working with clients (but continue to do in every day life). -The massage tables, face cradles, Thai mat, cushions, and pillows are covered so they can be sanitized between each client (this meant changing out the super comfy face cradle cushions since the cover doesn’t fit them, sorry!).

reintroduce them on limited basis soon

-We encourage prepayment for services. Available options include: the card you have on file (if we have it), payment over the phone, Venmo, PayPal, or Cash App. If you prefer to pay by check or cash there will be a box where you can insert your check or cash. For checks, please try to have them written in advance and for cash, please try to bring exact change to reduce the handling of cash.

-And more measures to assure the space is safe for you!

Finally, remember that if circumstances change and we feel we need to close again to protect everyone, you will be notified immediately.
The New Booking Website:
Massage BookAt long (long) last, the new booking website is live. We request that clients hold off on requesting appointments through MassageBook until July so we have time to accommodate all the rebookings from COVID-19. Create an account here so you can look around and request appointments.

RASA’s website got an update too. We hope to give it a little more pizzazz in the future, but it needed an update to be compatible with a few other integrations. If you run into any issues with either website, please let us know!

Ok friends, next week we begin again!

There is a lot of information here. But it’s all important. Below you will find a lot of information about about our reopening, how we’re protecting you while at RASA, the new booking website information, a survey, an intake and release, our Father’s Day Special, and more!

Our Plan to Reopen-
Some things to know/consider before you return to RASA:

  • SC’s numbers are still going up, so we will continue to keep an eye on what the trends are and why. We are doing more testing, so that’s a part of the reason for the number of reported cases increasing. But also, with broad reopenings and many people not adhering to recommendations, the increase in cases could be coming from this. And thus, our continued need for extra caution.

  • If you had an appointment that you missed due to the closure because of COVID-19, you should have been contacted to reschedule.
  • There will be fewer appointments available during the week to make more time between each client to fully sanitize. If both massage rooms &/or the sauna room are in use, the appointment times will be staggered to avoid too many people moving through the space at the same time.
  • If you had a recurring appointment, please be aware that the timing for your appointment will likely need to shift until the risk of COVID-19 is significantly reduced. When it is safer to go back to “normal” booking, we can reevaluate your appointment day &/or time.
  • If you fall into a high risk category/categories, please consider delaying your return to RASA even further. Even taking as many precautions as we are able, there is still a risk of contracting COVID-19 or some other infection. There is always a risk of contracting something, but the need to keep our immune systems strong is especially important right now.
  • If you feel safer wearing a mask, you are by all means welcome to do so. We will have masks on hand, but you are welcome to wear your own clean mask.
  • You will be asked to fill out an updated COVID Intake and Waiver. To complete this form, you will need to download it and either print it, fill it out by hand, and bring it in or fill it out on your computer, electronically sign it (it will look different depending on your platform, but most platforms have a way to type, check, and sign PDFs), save it, and then send it in an email to Ashleigh@RASAWholeHealth.com. This form will be required before each visit to RASA for a service for the foreseeable future.
  • We would also like for you to fill out a Survey. Follow the directions for the Intake and Waiver to print it and bring it in or send it in an email. This information will be used to better accommodate your needs during this time.
  • Please be aware that if you have any symptoms of a cough, cold, flu, or even allergies, just to be safe, you should reschedule. We will be following the same guidelines.
  • We are trying to get supplies together to make and sell sanitizing wipes, spray, and gel. See below for more details!

Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Finally, remember that reopening the week of the 1st of June is still a goal. We hope this date will give us enough time to watch the infection rate decline and to appropriately prepare to see clients again. If the numbers increase too much, this date will be adjusted. If we find we cannot appropriately prepare, we will give you another date. If we reopen and circumstances change and require closing again to protect everyone, you will be notified immediately.

How We Will Protect You:

  • The massage therapists who will be working next week have been tested (still waiting on results). If more massage therapists come back to work while COVID-19 is still a major concern, they will also be tested before returning.

  • We will reschedule your appointment if we are not feeling well or have any symptoms of concern.

  • Our usual professional cleaning will continue at least once a week.
  • A cleaner deemed to be safe and affective for killing the SARS-CoV-2 virus and other microbes by the EPA (including 60%+ alcohol, thymol, and surfactants) will be used between each client to thoroughly sanitize surfaces including but not limited to the following surfaces: door knobs, light switches, side tables, chairs, the desk, the sideboard, pens, clipboards, handles, electronics, sinks and counters, commode, the benches, the water dispenser, etc.
  • Disposable cups and paper towels will be available for those who are more comfortable with those options. Otherwise, the cups will be washed in hot water and dish soap and the hand drying towels will be available and laundered appropriately as usual.
  • Your massage therapist will wear a fresh apron with each client.
  • Masks will be available if you choose to wear one. We will have both clean reusable masks as well as disposable masks available for use.
  • The face cradles will either be changed out to the (less comfortable, sorry) pads that can be fully sterilized, or will have a cover that can be sanitized. Massage tables, the Thai mat, and all pillows will also have a cover that can be wiped down after each session.
  • Sanitizing wipes, spray, etc will be available in each room.
  • We will wear a mask while with clients until we see that the risk is significantly reduced.
  • Air Purifiers are already in each treatment room and we will be running a UV Ionic air purifier as well.

  • A UV Light wand to sterilize items and areas more thoroughly

  • Some services will not be available for the time being. Those include (but are not limited to):
    • Hot Stone Massage
    • Wraps
    • 30 Minute Stand-alone services (i.e. 30 Minute massages, Sole Satisfaction, Free Your Mind, etc.) unless in conjunction with a longer service or multiple 30 Minute services
    • Certain tools may be deemed to hard to sterilize between clients so services that use those tools may not be available

  • Prepayment options are available: the card you have on file (if we have it), payment over the phone, Venmo (@Ashleigh-Rivers), PayPal (PayPal.Me/rasawsh), or Cash App ($AshleighRivers) (sorry, RASA’s bank still does not support Zelle). If you prefer to pay by check or cash there will be a box where you can insert your check or cash. For checks, please try to have them written in advance and for cash, please try to bring exact change to reduce the handling of cash. If you forget, no big deal– we can always sanitize!

If you think of anything you would like to see us do that is not mentioned, please feel free to let us know!

New Booking Website- MassageBook:

At long (long) last, the new booking website is live. We request that clients hold off on requesting appointments through MassageBook until July so we have time to accommodate all the rebookings from COVID-19. Create an account here so you can look around and request appointments when the time comes.

RASA’s website got an update too. We hope to give it a little more pizzazz in the future, but it needed an update to be compatible with a few other integrations. If you run into any issues with either website, please let us know!

Sanitizing Wipes, Spray, and Gel

After using the wipes EVERYWHERE I went for the last 10 weeks and getting requests to make them available, I decided plenty of people were looking for things like this, so here you go! I’m still waiting on a few items to arrive to get products ready to make and sell. Hopefully they will get in this week and be ready for sale by the time we reopen. If not, they will be ready as soon as the ingredients come in, get mixed up and packaged.

Sanitizing Wipes:
Made with 95% grain alcohol, aloe juice and glycerin so they are less drying, and essential oils* and 100% biodegradable cotton (but not flushable– no wipes are truly ok for our sewer systems). These are great for your hands and some surfaces, especially on-the-go. But be aware, the oils and aloe with streak some surfaces. Be careful on wood and other porous surfaces– the alcohol is still drying.

Sanitizing Gel:
Made with 95% grain alcohol, aloe gel, and essential oils*. Made specifically for hands, forearms, etc. The aloe helps distribute the alcohol and it keeps your hands from drying out.

Sanitizing Spray:
Made with 95% grain alcohol, glycerin, distilled water, and essential oils. This spray can be used for more than just your hands, but be sure test in small area first. Great for on-the-go situations.

*The essential oils are chosen because they have been shown to be antimicrobial in some lab settings &/or they smell good in the mixture. Even though some of these oils have been shown to be antiviral/antibacterial/antifungal/antimicrobial in a petri dish and some other settings in a lab, this does not mean they necessarily kill the COVID-19 virus or other microbes in other settings, hence the need for the alcohol.

We Welcome Other Massage Therapists! There will be at least one new massage therapist at RASA. John Harris of The Restoration will be joining and using a massage room weekday afternoons. There may be other therapists joining over the next few months and you will be notified when/if they join with an introduction.

Kimberly Richey (a Rolfer, see below) does not expect return to RASA’s space for another few months, but you can you still check out what she has to offer and contact her with any questions.
During COVID times, all appointments will be staggered to avoid overlap and reduce “traffic” in common spaces as much as possible.

Kimberly Richey Rolfing:

Most of you have seen by now the information for Kimberly Richey Rolfing. When we’re not in the middle of health crisis, she works out of RASA Saturday-Monday. If you are not familiar with Kimberly or with Rolfing, I highly encourage you to visit her website to learn more!

More Ways to Support RASA:

Gift Certificate:

If you’d like to support RASA by purchasing a gift certificate(s) of any value, we are more than happy to help with that! You just need to text or call Ashleigh at 803-386-8203 and we can make arrangements for this. The gift certificates can emailed, mailed in the post, or if you’re in the area, we can make arrangements for you to pick them up safely.

Prepayment:

Something else you can do to support RASA is to prepay for your next appointment. We have the ability to credit your account with RASA, so you can put any amount toward your next service or services.

Yoga Sessions:

If you feel like your day could use a little more calm, a little more movement, some flow, some breath… Ashleigh can meet you in Zoom for beginner or intermediate yoga, meditation, or both. Zoom is an easy to use website or application to help people connect over the internet. All you need is a computer, an internet connection, a few minutes to get set up, and maybe a yoga mat (and props if you have them). Contact Ashleigh to learn more about this option! 803-386-8203.

RASA-Made ProductsRASA still has their signature RASA-Made products. Some of the stock is a little lower, but with all this time on our hands… We could get some more made up pretty easily.

If you would like to purchase any of these items, we can arrange a pickup. We suggest getting in touch a day before so a bag with your product can be made up and set aside. Then you can pick your bag the next day. If you have concerns over making contact with the product, let it sit somewhere out of the way for 1-3 days before taking it out of the bag.

What we have right now: Buttery Body Balm (see photo to the left), 1/2 Concentration Facial Serum, Soaking Salts, Bug Away Spray, Body Spray, Deodorants, Funky Fix Foot Powder, Funky Fix Laundry Booster, Poo Me and Deuce Truce, Arnica Oil, Soreness Soothing Salve, and finally, a few candles (not listed on the website, these are new with new scents too!).

A Friendly Reminder- RASA’s Cancellation Policy:

RASA does have a cancellation policy (copied below). Obviously you have no control if you wake up sick on the morning of your appointment. We are understanding of these and other situations that do occur; life does happen. As a friendly reminder though, we do ask that you let us know as soon as you can if you are going to be unable to make your appointment so that we may give that slot to someone else who needs to come and we don’t lose that income entirely. We also ask that you be aware of how often you are needing to cancel last minute. Please remember that our ability to be make accommodations and not charge is limited simply because we do need income to stay in operation.  We do, as always, very much appreciate your business and loyalty!

Cancellation Policy:
I understand that RASA has a 24-hour cancellation policy. I also understand that RASA requires a credit card to be stored in my file in order to book an appointment. If I fail to inform RASA that I will not make my appointment less than 3 hours in advance or “no-show”, my card on file will be charged the full price. If I cancel between 24 hours and 3 hours before my appointment, my card on file will be charged for half the price of the service(s). I also understand that a cancellation in the 24-3 hour window must be submitted between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm. I further understand that there are some services that require prepayment to book because of the time allotted for these services either in setup up, clean up, or length of session and because product is potentially wasted if these appointments are cancelled. I authorize RASA Whole Self Health, LLC to charge my credit card if I fail to inform them of a cancellation in the appropriate time frame listed above.
We are understanding of emergency situations, so please communicate with us should something come up.

Specials- “Fine Print”:
Please contact RASA with any questions and/or to book. Please mention the promotion when booking as well as at your appointment to receive the discount. Cannot be combined with any other offer. Cannot be used on already booked appointments. Series packages always have expirations and this is also true when they are on special. Some restrictions apply. While appointment bookings are available (no rain checks).
These Special expires on the 30th of June 2020:
Father’s Day Special: Up to $300 per person will be discounted at the rates above. You may purchase gift certificates for a higher value, but only up to $300 will be discounted. One purchase (can purchase multiple gift certificates) per person for the period of the discount. Please contact Ashleigh at 803-603-4923 (text is best) or ashleigh@rasawholehealth.com to make arrangements for payment and gift certificate delivery.

Series Packages: Limit 2 series at discounted package.
Thank you for taking the time to read this update!  We look forward to serving you soon!!
Dearest clients, oh how we miss you! After more long and hard deliberation, we have once again decided to continue the suspension of business. The numbers are not looking good and we would much prefer to protect you than be a potential point of infection. This is a better safe than sick and sorry situation.
If you have an upcoming appointment, Ashleigh will reach out to you and, rather than rebooking like we did before, we will put you on a list to be rebooked once we have a clearer picture of when things will be safer. This will help avoid potentially having rebook multiple times.
At the end of each week, we will reevaluate the situation and make a decision for the following week. You can expect an email each week until things get back on track.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation and we very much look forward to getting back to “normal” very soon.
In the meantime, if you’d like to support this local small business, you still take advantage of the Series Package Special, buy a Gift Certificate, or prepay for your next appointment. Feeling the need for some calm and/or movement right now? You can also schedule a Zoom Yoga Session with Ashleigh. And of course, there are still the RASA-Made Products for sale. Scroll down for information on how to take advantage of these.

You Can Still Learn More About  Kimberly!

Read Up On Kimberly Richey Rolfing!

So that when we can all get back on track, you know more about this great resource:

If you are not familiar with Kimberly or with Rolfing, I highly encourage you to visit her website to learn more!
A very basic introduction from rolfing.org:
“Named after its founder, Dr. Ida P. Rolf, Rolfing® Structural Integration is a form of bodywork that reorganizes the connective tissues, called fascia, that permeate the entire body.
More than fifty years ago, Dr. Rolf recognized that the body is inherently a system of seamless networks of tissues rather than a collection of separate parts. These connective tissues surround, support and penetrate all of the muscles, bones, nerves and organs. Rolfing Structural Integration works on this web-like complex of connective tissues to release, realign and balance the whole body, thus potentially resolving discomfort, reducing compensations and alleviating pain. Rolfing SI aims to restore flexibility, revitalize your energy and leave you feeling more comfortable in your body.
Essentially, the Rolfing process enables the body to regain the natural integrity of its form, thus enhancing postural efficiency and your freedom of movement.”

After long and very (very) hard deliberation, it is with regret that RASA is suspending business for the next two weeks or more pending further information on the spread- and hopefully containment- of COVID-19. We still do not think that people should panic, but the need for measured and thoughtful precautions are becoming even clearer.
We want to be here to serve your needs whenever we can; however, at this time we think that the best way to serve everyone is not to take appointments. This was not an easy decision to make, but ultimately we decided that protecting everyone is the best way to “flatten the curve” (the Rivers mentioned in this article is of no relation to Ashleigh, that we know of).
If you have an appointment scheduled between now and the 27th of March, Ashleigh will be reaching out to reschedule your appointment over the next few days.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation and we very much look forward to getting back to “normal” very soon. And keep reading for some good stuff and March’s Specials.

In the Meantime…

Enjoy These Poems
Pandemic
What if you thought of it
as the Jews consider the Sabbath-
the most sacred of times?
Cease from travel.
Cease from buying and selling.
Give up, just for now,
on trying to make the world
different than it is.
Sing. Pray. Touch only those
to whom you commit your life.
Center down.
And when your body has become still,
reach out with your heart.
Know that we are connected
in ways that are terrifying and beautiful.
(You could hardly deny it now.)
Know that our lives
are in one another’s hands.
(Surely, that has come clear.)
Do not reach out your hands.
Reach out your heart.
Reach out your words.
Reach out all the tendrils
of compassion that move, invisibly,
where we cannot touch.
Promise this world your love-
for better or for worse,
in sickness and in health,
so long as we all shall live.
-Lynn Ungar 3/11/20

What If
There is so much fear, and perhaps rightfully so, about COVID-19.
And, what if…
If we subscribe to the philosophy that life is always working out for us, that there is an intelligence far greater than humans at work…
That all is interconnected.
What if…
the virus is here to help us?
To reset.
To remember.
What is truly important.
Reconnecting with family and community.
Reducing travel so that the environment, the skies, the air, our lungs all get a break.
Parts of China are seeing blue sky and clouds for the first time in forever with the factories being shut down.
Working from home rather than commuting to work (less pollution, more personal time).
Reconnecting with family as there is more time at home.
An invitation to turn inwards – a deep meditation – rather than the usual extroverted going out to self-soothe.
To reconnect with self – what is really important to me?
A reset economically.
The working poor. The lack of healthcare access for over 30 million in the US. The need for paid sick leave.
How hard does one need to work to be able to live, to have a life outside of work?
And, washing our hands – how did that become a “new” thing that we needed to remember. But, yes, we did.
The presence of Grace for all.
There is a shift underway in our society – what if it is one that is favorable for us?
What if this virus is an ally in our evolution?
In our remembrance of what it means to be connected, humane, living a simpler life, to be less impactful/ more kind to our environment.
An offering from my heart this morning. Offered as another perspective. Another way of relating to this virus, this unfolding, this evolution.
It was time for a change, we all knew that.
And, change has arrived.
What if…
– Gurpreet K. Gill

And Maybe…

Thank you for taking the time to read this post!  We look forward to serving you soon!!

Big changes coming to RASA next week! It’s taken more than a year of searching, but … RASA finally has a new home! After 10-ish years in the white house on the hill that we have so loved, it’s time to move on. Ashleigh has had some problems with the house’s environment contributing to her asthma for a while, but it has gotten considerably worse in the past few months and worse still this past month. We also really don’t want our clients to have to deal with any issues from the building either, so when we found a place that could work, we decided even if it’s not what quite we had in mind, it was time to make the move.

RASA will begin to transition into the new space this weekend and will be taking clients in the new location starting next week. It will take some time for some of the changes that space needs, so please be patient as we make the updates needed. Some are more aesthetic and some are more functional and we will likely continue to shift the space as we figure out how to best fit into the space. We appreciate your patience during this process!

The new location is about 5 minutes up the road (depending on traffic), right off the corner of Beltline Blvd and Forest Dr (behind where the Wells Fargo was recently taken down). The address is 3608 Landmark Dr. Forest Acres SC 29204 in the colonial-style buildings. RASA will use the back entrance.

Coming from the old RASA location, simply go up Cross Hill and continue on to Beltline. Just before the intersection at Forest Dr, turn right onto Landmark drive. 3608 is the first building on the right. Turn in and park on the side of the back of the building.

Coming from any other direction, access Landmark Dr. from Forest Dr. At the Forest Dr. access to Landmark is McGregor and Company on one side and Vital Energy on the other. Once on Landmark, continue down toward the road until you see the colonial style buildings. You can turn in at the first building and then turn between the buildings to park behind 3608, or keep going and turn in after 3608 to park on the side or the back of the building.

Also, we are WAY more accessible now! There are a few stairs on side of the entrance OR you can use the ramp. There are not designated ADA spaces (nor is the restroom ADA, but at least no more steep stairs!), but there are several parking spaces toward the end of the ramp.

We look forward to welcoming you in the new location and enjoying the evolution of that space with you!

Stay tuned for upcoming changes! We will try to update here as we learn more about what changes you can expect from us.

Since we frequently  have technical issues in getting the updates posted here, sign up for our mailing list!
